We are finally in our new house after 7 weeks of living out of suitcases. It is so very nice to have a home again. I have almost finished all the unpacking just have our portarobes (too many clothes) and baby brothers room to do. My body ached so much after this move, took me several days to get over. On Sunday we visited friends and spent most of the time in the pool, that helped immensely.
We put the girls in the same room for the 5th,6th or 7th time to try it out and quickly realised once again it would be a failed attempt, Miss Rabbit thought it was fun to wake her sister up for playtime in the middle of the night leaving everyone exhausted and cranky, so they are now set up in their own rooms and we enjoyed the first full nights sleep for everyone in the household in about 3 weeks, bliss.
Pregnancy wise, I will be 35 weeks along this Saturday, cue minor panic attack and a sleepless night two nights ago at the thought that I have nothing packed and nothing set up for him yet. Lack of sleep led to a dreadful day yesterday where I felt all kinds of awful and I literally thought I might have a baby due to the sickness, fatigue and cramps I felt all day. Thankfully he did not decide yesterday would be his birthday and after a full nights sleep I am feeling much better today.
My stomach is already measuring bigger than when the girls were born (!!!) and my GP said upon hearing the heartbeat for the first time on Monday that he sounds like a horse so this all leads me to think there is a very healthy little or big man on board which is wonderful!
I have four things left on my list to get and we will be ready for him to arrive, hopefully not for another few weeks, I need a rest!

Day 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 - Yeppoon to Mackay, Mackay to Townsville, Townsville to Cairns!
In the sweet sweet miracle that is both of my children sleeping at the same time (yes yes I know I should be too) I will finish the story of our trip!
Yeppoon to Mackay we had a lazy start as our friends who we would be staying with were busy until late afternoon so we headed off at a leisurely 10am. Had another great run on the roads, we were so blessed with the traffic, of course there were a few idiots but nothing like we expected and all the grey nomads were going in the opposite direction (yay) so we made it to Mackay in great time. Spent an hour or so wandering around the big new shopping centre. You can definitely tell this is a town where people have money to spend, in the on shopping centre there is over 10 jewellers all with the most beautiful and expensive jewellery (drool) on display. My friend A has been telling me since they moved there over a year ago how rude the people were and it is true. When I am walking with a little girl holding each hand and a big belly and a woman knocks into us sending Rabbit onto the floor and doesn't even stop to apologise you know there is something wrong!
Despite the rude people we had a lovely couple of days with our friends, another friend from my mother's group, we actually met at antenatal classes. The older kids got along like a house on fire whereas the younger two batted heads a bit but I think that was more a communication barrier problem than anything, it was a lovely visit.
We left Mackay early to go to Townsville expecting a huge day but once again were blessed and made good time. Checked out the sights in Townsville, used the pool and we all slept the afternoon away. I was finally able to meet a dear friend who I have known 'online' for over five years now and despite numerous attempts we hadn't been able to meet but we finally did and it was lovely. We had a yummy meal and chatted mostly like it wasn't the first time we had 'met.' M and I have supported each other through the ups and downs of military life and that is where our friendship grew and I am just so happy we could catch up! Her hubby is a crack up too, a real funny and friendly guy.
We woke on the morning of our last day and boy the tiredness suddenly hit us. I think a mixture of the humidity and knowing we were so close to our destination had us wiped. Still we headed off and after many driver changes over only 350kms or so we arrived! We were early for our defence funded accommodation so spent a couple of nights in a caravan park. It was a good opportunity to re acquaint ourselves with the area, catch up with a couple of friends and just relax a bit.
So now I am sitting here in our defence funded serviced apartment which is our home for two weeks just relaxing before we have to do housework, pay bills, get back to normal etc. I am itching to get into our house and set up, we went and had a look last night and despite a couple of things not being perfect, which of course when renting never can be it will suit us just fine, the neighbours even said hello when we were checking it out so that's a good thing!
Hubby has returned to work and they literally do not have a job for him so he is bored already, hopefully they come up with a plan sometime soon or he is going to be pulling his hair out!
Also had my first hospital appointment up here and found out an end date/birth date for baby brother! So nice to have something to aim for, its a great date too, sharing a birth date with one of my best friends.
All in all a pretty good trip, but very relieved and glad to be here and to have all made it safely.
Now to suffer through the next two weeks in almost luxury before the big move in, such a hard life!

Day 8 - Bundaberg to Yeppoon
We geared ourselves up for a big day leaving at 7.30am after the gps on the i-phone told us it would be a 4hr 30min drive, so when we arrived in Rockhampton in just over 3 hours we had to find some stuff to do!
We drove around looking for a park for a picnic and just ended up heading straight out to Yeppoon as we weren't really fussed on Rockhampton last time we were here. Yeppoon is really pretty, a beautiful view over to Great Keppel Island. Once it was time to check in we spent another couple of hours in the pool, the swimming pool at the end of each day has been a saviour for me! My 31 week pregnant body has really started to feel the humidity and to get in the cool water is sweet relief!
Kids went quite feral today lol! Think they are feeling as over it as us today, we are all a bit wiped out.
Drove down to Emu Park and saw the 'Singing ship', a big statue with organ like bars hanging from it that 'sings' basically hums when the wind goes through it.
On to another dear friends place tomorrow for a couple of nights. Another mummy from my mother's group with Pumpkin, again looking forward to seeing the kids playing together and seeing their youngest child who I haven't seen since she was about 4 months old, will be fabulous to catch up :)

Day 7 - Hervey bay to Bundaberg
Only a short drive today, turns out we are going too fast and need to waste some time so we had a short day today and spent some time touristing around Hervey Bay and Bundaberg today.
In Bundaberg we spent a couple of hours picnicing and walking around the Botannical gardens. The humidity is really increasing and by the end of it it was a slow waddle for me but worth the look.
We spent the next hour or so chilling off in the pool at the motel, bliss!
There was a beautiful wedding in the gardens while we were there, bought back some wonderful memories of what we were doing on this day six years ago! We have been very busy in the last six years and I am so looking forward to what is to come. We went out to dinner at Montezumas tonight, yummo! Haven't had it since we left Cairns eighteen months ago, its one of our favs :)
A note to anyone passing through Bundaberg or looking to holiday in this area, check out Bargara for accomodation. It is a beautiful beach side town, if we had of known about it before hand we would of stayed there. There is plenty to do here in the Bundaberg area, so a good place to stop!
For those playing at home, we have now seen some more 'big' things hehe. Today in Hervey Bay we saw a big whales head, a big whales tail, big shark and a big Ned Kelly!
I feeling pretty wiped out today so its off to bed shortly because we have a big day ahead tomorrow!

Day 4, 5 & 6 - Glen Innes to Brisbane, Brisbane to Hervey Bay.
Glen Innes to Brisbane was a fairly stress free run and we arrived at our friends in Brissy early afternoon. It was so nice to spend a couple of days with them, the kids picked up where they left off like no time has passed and amazingly there was only one fight in the whole time we were there, they were joined at the hip, it was beautiful to watch, they just loved being togeher!
It was exactly what the doctor ordered. I had a great catch up with my girlfriend, again it was like no time had passed, I feel so lucky to have a few close friendships such as these, no matter how much time passes its just like yesterday we were together.
Sad to say goodbye but we needed to get on the road again, stopped in Noosa as neither hubby or I had been there before and it is beautiful there. Mr loved it and has started researching properties for the 'future' I didn't love it as much, it too touristy for me but it would be nice to have a holiday house on the canals there........one can dream lol!
So yesterday we arrived in Hervey Bay, another beautiful spot. I have always liked it here, pretty busy at the moment with the school holidays but still quiet enough to be relaxing. We spent the whole afternoon in the pool! Humidity is increasing so we are starting to feel the heat, it will be nothing like up the Far North but slowly acclimatising is good.
Kids are coping amazingly well. They are both still going to bed at a reasonable hour and are sleeping through, although the time zone change in Queensland hasn't been all that kind and the kids have been getting up at 5.30am :/ but hopefully they will figure that out *yawn*
I passed the 31 week mark with baby brother in my belly today also, roughly 7 weeks to go, i'm in denial, as long as he hangs in until after we get our house in a few weeks all will be good!

Day 3 - Musswellbrook to Glen Innes
Hoorah for a much better day today. The roads were so much better than yesterday, hardly any cars and we made good time.
We stopped at the Golden guitar in Tamworth, very exciting! I have seen almost all of the 'big' things in Australia, I'm such a dorky tourist, but I love it :)
Kids are doing really well for being in the car so much. Thank god for in car dvd players and food snacks!
Tomorrow we are heading to visit a great friends of ours, one of the best, a mummy from my mother's group from Pumpkin, her hubby and kids. Pumpkin and R have not seen each other for one and a half years and I cannot wait to see the excitement on their faces when we get there!
I am looking forward to a very overdue catch up, please be kind tomorrow roads!

Day 1 - Benalla to Canberra
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Today we sett off reasonably early, we had a really good run and were in Canberra by 1.30pm. Kids behaved well, we had a few stops, Holebrook (The submarine town) to have a look at HMAS Otway and Gundagi for some lunch.
We have a had a bit of a look around Canberra, soooo quiet in town today, New Year's day and Sunday I guess that is why but it was like a ghost town.
Despite growing up in a military family, my husband being in the defence force and having many friends that are serving defence members I am usually not one for military history, we went to The Australian War memorial, what a great memorial museum that place was, very child friendly too so with the kids running around like ratbags the staff didn't bat an eyelid! The displays were excellent and the main memorial chamber was amazingly fully decorated with mosaic tiles, incredible!
Our soldiers, sailors and airforce personel do and have done such an amazing service to our country, you can't help but be proud. Stay safe over there boys, thinking of one person in particular, he is very close to coming home and I know many people who will be very happy once he is back on Australian soil.
